Malta and Gozo are small islands in the middle of the Mediterranean, connected by a half-hour ferry ride. We like them so much that we've gone twice.

This is "Popeye Village," still there from when Popeye was filmed in 1980, with Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall. So cool!
This parish rotunda is affectionately called Mosta Dome. In April 1942, during a service with more than 300 people attending, an enemy bomb dropped through the domed ceiling but did not explode. The shell still lies there on the floor of the church, for everyone to see.
So the people of Mosta regularly celebrate the Madonna who they believe saved them on that day.
What we love best about Malta and Gozo, which makes it one of our favorite destinations, is the 6,000-year-old megalithic temple structures.
We wonder about the people who collected and stacked these 50-ton stones.
On these remote windy precipices overlooking the sea.
Profound sites that still you... because of the beauty of the location and the demonstration of devotion.
